now what have i been up to?
now what have i been up to?

Plenty of things.

18th Feb, mother's birthday wanted to be the good person give a dinner treat but apparently plans were already made. An old friend of hers came along. At the end instead of the friend treat, the mother foot the bill herself. Don't like that friend is all I can say.

Where we went to eat?

Grand Hyatt Hotel's Straitscusine

Photobucket

The fare was mostly all Asian food, not to my palate. It is a Halal buffet and there was Indian food, chinese noodles & delicacies, Malay food, desserts (THE BUMMER! All those traditional desserts only lor!) and snack food like Rojak, goreng pisang etc.

The black pepper crabs were ICKY, first time I disliked eating crabs.

The interior was very well decorated though, apparently Cousin Emsaid that the wood used in the deco was supplied by her dad's company.

20th February - YENNY'S BIRTHDAY

She have yet to upload the pictures so cannot put up any leh.

The day started out early with me going to work first, then after that Omala joined me on a thrifting outing. That ass kept on confirming that this particular place CONFIRM + CHOP have Raybans. PUI. DON'T HAVE LOR!

However, we did have fun perusing through old stuff and trying on all sorts of blazers, in the end I left the place with a an oversized blazer and a $10 BNWT dress.

HEH!

21st FEB SATURDAY

BF HAD TO STAY IN CAMP! Oh WOE!
Did go out anyway! Guess with who???

Photobucket

Photobucket

A few of my POLY MATES!
My FYP group Ceddy & Weeky. Plus Alwin & Jason!

Those asses, last time complain to no end that this hawker food and that food expensive then that day 1st suggestion, DIN TAI FUNG. WTH.

Photobucket

We ate at the Paragon Branch.
And CANNOT STAND IT LA.

Photobucket

ALL OF THEM when we were going to school used to wear slippers/flip-flops, that day I was the ONLY one wearing slippers, all of them wearing shoes la.

AND ALWIN! OMIGOSH, couldn't recognise him at all ok!

Ceddy also like xiao long baos. LOL, he order 3 baskets of them. 5 of us were gobbling it up like nutties before they turned cold.

We ordered a main dish for each of us, and 3 baskets of xiao long baos & 2 side dishes.

Total amt was $90.

My verdict was that Din Tai Fung right, lost to Crystal Jade HANDS DOWN.

Why:

-Lesser variety
-Noodles were tasteless except for their pork slices ( But Crystal Jade's one is better)
- Xiao Long Baos I also ate better ones.

However it is filling ah and the service wasn't all that bad except that I had to ask for ice water thrice and I asked for the entire table but they only served one glass to me. -.-|||

We went off to shop a bit then slack at The Cathay's Starbucks while I tried to phsyco them into eating Posh brownies.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Timo came along as well!

We were talking about all the crappy stuff la, some things don't change! HAHAHAHAHA.

We were slacking and waiting for our show, THE OUTLANDER to start.

Verdict: DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY. Story line is ..... ewwwwwwww.

The night ended then LOL.

TODAY,

Woke up, went to work, then after that went to meet Qin & Bin at Parkway.

Caught up with her and was talking nine to the dozen.

HB always has this knack for hearing me before seeing me. I was telling her maybe she has the penguin ability, can filter out everyone's voice but mine HAHAHHHAHAHAA.

Video of Qin's new toy:

Private joke, thats why we laughing. so yea ;p

Awesome few days la except for the fact that I have not been able to spend much time with my boyfriend. =\ Oh well, tis NS life.

K! OFF I GO! LATER I STILL GOT WORK!

rihanna abused pictures leaked online.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/7903177.stm

Apparently , that girl in the picture is allegedly RIHANNA, abused by boyfriend, CHRIS BROWN.

I once asked a few people, if your boyfriend, the one that claims to love you, hits you, would you still stay with him?

Some people said yes, some people said no and started cursing and swearing at the stupidity of the women who said yes, and some, said they didn't know.

The people I've come across before who actually did hit their girlfriends, I find their excuses, bullshit.

The good ones I've seen them try to change and seek counselling, there are also assholes who try to hide it when we can obviously see the bruises.

A guy friend also commented on the Rihanna-chris brown issue saying that resorting to violence in arguments is a very dumb thing, people usually do that only when they cannot win the argument.

So true.

skins
Recently I have been watching the 3rd season of

Skins

Photobucket

Skins is a British teen drama aimed at young adults which is at the forefront of Channel 4's quest to bring more British programming to Britain.
Fast-paced and full of angst-ridden fun, this British drama is based on a group of Bristolian teenagers and their personal struggle with highly-charged issues of race, religion, sexuality, drugs and food disorders.

From tv.com

Anyhow, 3rd season, they got rid of EVERYONE from the first & second season except for 2 actresses. Thus they are branding 3rd season as Skins: 2nd generation.

I MISS THE OLD CAST.

WHY?

LOOK AT THEM:

Photobucket

Photobucket

Tony Stonem - Real name: Nicholos Hoult

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Maxxie , the gorgeous gay dude - Real Name: Mitch Hewer, not gay, YAY!

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Cassie,my fave female character. - real name : Hannah Murray

Basically, as TF said it, "this show is all about girls, drugs, booze and sex" And I DEFINITELY prefer this to gossip girl.

This is the show that I also first saw the appearance of Dev Patel as Anwar:

Who's trying to be a good Muslim but apparently, sex, drugs and booze keeps getting in the way.

It all started one day when I was surfing tv.com and tv.com had a mini vid clip for skins. Since I had nothing better to do, clickity click, and I was intrigued. I thought the title SKINS meant some alien sci-fi shizzle but what do you know? It was about rebellious teenagers! HEH.

Beseeched TF to get it for me and VOILA. I enjoyed watching it. I love the way they film stuff, and the scenery! OOOOOOOOOOOH

Not to mention their AWESOME soundtrack.

One of the 2 actresses who got retained was Effy Stonem, Tony Stonem's little sister, portrayed by Kaya Scodelario.

LOVE HER.

LOOK AT HOW GORGEOUS SHE IS:

THUMBS UP FOR SKINS! But Thumbs down for the 2nd generation! COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER!

on a valentine's day!
Like hello one and all!

I hope you had a great valentine's day be it with someone or without.

I had an easy going saturday! I received a FLOWER [HAHAHAHAHA] and a cup of bubble tea.

My brother just screamed at me for asking a dumb IT question[ "eh kor kor a, I download an attachment from the e-mail , it goes where ah?"] Dumb I know but i seriously couldn't find it, and talking real loudly when I went into the room coz I freaking didn't know his girlfriend was sleeping on the bed LOL.

AND I HAVE YET TO REMOVE ME MASCARA~

Ah anyway let's rewind a little.

13/02

I was wandering around my schools. I HAD an appointment at 1030hrs, don't know why all the contractors arrived at 1000hrs.

SO TOO BAD. Didn't get to be there.

Arrived at Singpost and since I was in the vicinity, called up KingMeng who happened to be working near by!

Yes, KingMeng, one of the legendary 3 math tutors who helped me get a B4 from an F9.

Photobucket

It was a dreadfully dusty late afternoon. Wondering what's with the fog/haze/smog around Paya lebar vicinity as I didn't see any haze/fog/smoke around serangoon.

Photobucket

Caught up a little and he soon had to go as it was an "unofficial" coffee break. Found out good news and I extend my heartiest congratulations!

After which he left, I went to do some atas-ing.

Coffee and pastry at coffee bean.

Photobucket

This month's Cleo was a total worth-it buy! Luckily KM left earlier or else if he'd been beside me I'd talk off his ear about this month's issue. What with the bachelor's stupid one liners to promote themselves to the fashion pages.

My initial plan was to waste an hour or so to meet up with my bf later on for a movie and dinner. Plans changed when he msged me he'd be later and my aunt called me to accompany her to get clothes.

Mehhhhh.

So after my very short and sweet shopping trip with my aunt at Parkway, I whizzed off to The Cathay to meet dearie.

He was ADAMANT to watch The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, I was tethering more towards the much talked and wrote about Slumdog Millionaire.

Slumdog Millionaire was left with single seats whereas Curious case still had seats so we got that.

Before the movie,we went off to Paradiz Center to have an early Vday dinner.

Photobucket

Photobucket

While waiting for the food.
I forgot to take a picture of the food as we were too ravenous -.-
However, I did manage to take a picture of their SUBLIME Banana ala mode.

DELICIOUS. Their dessert was extremely delightful and tasty, but much cannot be said the same for their food spread.

BF had the Black pepper steak while I got the beef lasagne.

Joel ordered his medium well and got medium rare instead.

More like 30% cooked and 70% bloody. Steak was mildly lukewarm as well.

Price: $13.90

Verdict: Fail.

Beef Lasagne, not enough tomato paste/sauce in it and the beef was very rubbery, instantly can chew out that it's the frozen kind.

Eat a few mouthfuls, youd just want to set the fork down and push the plate away due to its extreme cheesiness, which is good, but thats the only thing you can actually taste?

Price: $9.90

verdict: Pass, not spectacular but edible.

Photobucket

The dessert!

Banana alamode or something I forgot its name.

Simply divine!

$5.90 was worth every single cent!

The dish included a banana crumble ( Mini banana pie with crumbles) warmed, a sliced banana and a scoop of vanilla ice cream , all liberally drizzled over with caramel.

Photobucket

Looks yummy right!

It sure WAS!

Verdict: 5/5 STARS! A must try!

After dinner, just nice our movie was about to start.

It was truly, a great story line, and had great editing as well as filming.
It was a long movie, and had the audience enraptured in its story-telling like pace, gently bringing you through the life of Benjamin Button.

A man who was born old and grows younger as he ages.
There were several little side stories, that may or may not have any relevance, but were still crucial in the crux of the story, such as the old man who keeps on telling that he got struck by lightning 7 times. GENIUS.

The casting was brilliant to a detail, the scene filmed at the brothel, the woman sitting in the scene when the captain was showing off his art, was a perfect image of the average woman so often depicted in that era.

Porcelain white skin, dark slightly curly hair and pouty lips.

I wouldn't say the actors and actresses shone, but I must applaud Cate Blanchett's role.
It is the first time ever, that I took notice of her.

Script and dialouge, TEAR JERKING T_T

I was practically tearing like siao towards the end when Benjamin Button got younger and younger. THE IRONY!

Only Joel was like, " Why are you crying??!?!?!"

When even the Indian dude beside him was crying waaaaaay before my tears rolled.

Poignant, well worth the weekend price, definitely wouldn't mind watching it again.

To add on its good list for me, it had a small segment of a war scene!

Yes, I truly love war movies.

Pearl Harbour , Taeguki, Atonement,.. etc etc.

I don't really like civil wars and stuff but I don't mind The Last Samurai [ Satsuma rebellion], Hotel Rwanda & Blood diamond!

Wind talkers was alright.

While searching for the titles I stumbled on to so many more.

I am currently v interested in watching:

Platoon

Schindler's List
Black Hawk Down
Flags of our fathers
Letters from Iwo jima
Lust, Caution
The boy in the striped Pyjamas
The children of Huang shi
A Very Long Engagement
The Pianist
Captain Corelli's Manodolin
Good
In the valley of Elah
The Kite Runner
Saving Private Ryan

And definitely, I would want to see

Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence

Where such a beautiful piano instrumental song began.

If you've other war films or film with a slight segment of war ala Forrest Gump/Atonement, do let me know.

There were many terms I read about, such as the thousand yard stare and everything.

To think I was previously reading about norse mythology, about valkyries before heading into digging up more war titles.

By the way, I was watching , " Stranger than fiction."

Emma Thompson
is fantastic in her role!

FANTASTIC.

Oh and I have GOOD NEWS!

But I am not ready to share it yet. HAHAHAHA.

Till the next time, au revoir.

High society music

High Society

High Society are in house compilations by That CD shop.

The first time I noticed the songs were when I walked past its paragon branch and I was so intrigued by the song, sounded so familiar.

The sales girl showed the entire table full of compilations and they all look so yummy, but at a damn high price. So far the only album I got to hear most of it was Shanghai Jazz which got a lot of good reviews.

Indeed its very nostalgic however not to my taste.I was more interested in the album, " A love so beautiful" as it was the one that the sales rep pointed out was playing at the point of time I got suckered into the store.

Recently while walking past it Pacific Plaza branch, I got suckered in again due to the blasting song and true to its reputation it was a new compilation by High Society again at a very hefty price.

For just one album it can go up to $38, the 3 CD compilation I was looking at cost even more. GAH.

I'm not gonna buy all 3 without listening to more songs first man.

Still, NOT GONNA BUY. Must control, until I super filthy rich then will consider, meanwhile its back to trying to find more tracks online.

what have i been up to?
On the 7th, I went out with Omala to walk around.

We went to this place:

Photobucket

Photobucket

To get diamantes! Suddenly felt like doing something arty.

After that the ass & I went to get coffee

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Would you pay 2 bucks for this? He claims his photos people will buy one.
and then moved along back to civilization

Photobucket

Damn I didn't know my hair was so wavy.

I NEED A CHANGE OF HAIR COLOUR.

Which we then decided to head to Little India,

Photobucket

For a very short and unsuccessful buying trip.

Split ways and voila I headed to my aunt's place for a sort of farewell dinner for my cousin CF, as he's leaving for Australia to pursue his studies.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

*meow meow* trying to claw at me.LOL =x

After dinner, all of us cousins went out for a few drinks and light snacks.

Photobucket

We went over to

Photobucket

Paulaner Brauhaus

German Microbrewery bar & restaurant @ Time2 millenia walk.

Photobucket

Not my hand shaky, is they all moving. LOL

And we had quite the spread there.

No fancy cocktails this time, well, except for Cousin Joey who ordered a sunrise/sunset and regretted it in the end. Everyone went for plain old white or dark lager, Cousin Cheryl with her usual white wine and I opted for a sweeter alternative, baileys.

Miaohui then pulled out her camera which made all of us go, "woah!"

Without flash

Photobucket

With flash

Photobucket

Cost a cool hundred plus bucks in Taiwan. The person there only took a concentrated hour plus to complete it. Miao said she compared prices with SG, TW one was at half price.

And since she said she was going to keep the camera for long time to come ( I think my brother gave her thatassome present.), she thinks its worth it.

I think so too. SO DAMN PRETTY.

Photobucket

Our food soon came!

Photobucket

Pizza

Cousins said it was too cheesy. I think it was quite doughy. Would definitely prefer timbre's pizza.

2.5/5 stars

Photobucket

Assorted frankfurters

Not bad is all I can say! Really hit the spot with beer!

3/5 stars

This was the main dish Cousin Hong wanted to let us try,

Photobucket

Pork knuckle.

The taste wasn't as rich as I thought it would be basically just a slight flavour with the sauerkraut at the bottom. Again, good with beer.

3/5 stars [ Would have been better if served piping hot]

All in all awesome experience!

Cousin Hong's treat again! And my brother was trying to return money to him for the stuff he ordered but Cousin Hong said that we're students/haven't worked long etc.

I was like telling them to throw the money in the car and run away. Like this he cannot refuse our money. WHAAHAHAHA

The night ended then.

Sunday I had a nice outing with BF at Chinatown and then a movie at the Cathay.

Underworld 3

BF definitely preferred it more to the rest, Underworld 2 was caught in JB when we were still friends lor.Hahahaha.

He had to rush off soon after.

Monday!
YUAN XIAO JIE.
Dinner at Aunt's house again. Got my yummy abalone clams!
Cousin JX came to my house and we got started on working more on the schedule book we were making for our cousin CF who was flying off the next day.

Camwhored like siao la all of us.

SPOT THE BIG FAT TORTOISE

Brother and g, miaohui

Miao & Cousin JX

One of the photos I developed from the reel that I used up with the action sampler.

Gawd I just love the cameras I received for my bday. Thank you so much guys! See how much I've used them already!

The next day, Tuesday 10th feb.

BLOODY BORING TRAINING SESSION.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

And here is my breakfast,

Photobucket

-.-|||

Really, I was cursing and swearing silently throughout the entire session about it.

Lucky thing wasthat I can use the internet to roam about but since I was late, all the back seats got snapped up! So I WAS STUCK IN FRONT ROW T_T can only go those "guai" websites like news websites. Oh well , better than nothing right!

BUT THERE IS ONLY SO MUCH NEWS YOU CAN READ IN THAT 8 hrs right?!??!

After that , I tottered off to the Airport to send my cousin off on his flight.

Met up at Popeye's, the much craved biscuit!

Jeremy and Cousin CF soon came. Jeremy as good looking as ever! HAHAHAHA.

Cousin JX/Emily, Jeremy & Cousin CF

Cousin JX was saying my brother wrote some emo crap in the notebook for Cousin CF. -.-|||

One last cousin shot beforeyou board the plane!

EVERYONE. LOL.

Cousin CF and Ying Xiang ( who is also going over with him to study) were both carrying two hand-carry luggages each while they each had uber large suitcases that can prolly fit 2 persons.

It was a good thing that they can get to study overseas, but of course, the unwillingness to let them go will still be there.

Oh well,
bon voyage dudes.

Be safe and come back soooooon!
